Aside from being totally hilarious? This is also a bit sick and scary. I want to know, I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to know how the man who taught love, tolerance, and "turn the other cheek" could somehow decide that he wants his followers to run around being so disgusting and hateful.
I mean, the whole Phelps group gets way too much press anyway: but I wonder sometimes how they sleep at night knowing that A.) They are the biggest hatemongers in the world and B.) They are also the biggest losers in the world.
You see, being an Atheist actually makes people care more about being good people. When you can justify hating someone because some fictional piece of mythology can be loosely interpereted to give you permission to do so, it's much easier than actually being a decent human being.
Atheists, unlike their Xtian counterparts, realize that we only have this one life... so how should we spend it? Worrying about who's dick is in who's ass? Traumatizing grieving familys at funerals for fallen soldiers? No.... We Atheists realize that if this is the one shot we have, we better make it good. And I for one am not afraid of what two guys or two girls do in the privacy of their own bedrooms. I would much rather learn to knit, go for a walk, or bake some cookies thanks just the same.
But the biggest LOL I have for the Phelps group is their complete lack of knowledge. Not only do they stutter and stumbe when you ask them "which scriptures say that?", but they seem to have invented entire new parts of the Bible in order to justify their hatred!
According to "scripture" we don't know the mind of God. Supposedly we cannot guess the day of judgement/armageddon/explodeypants. So I encourage the Phelpstards to continue to harp on it being the "doomed America" etc etc... because that means God'll have to forestall armageddon until they're not onto him anymore.
Jesus wouldn't smack the shit out of you until he told you the safe word first.
